The webmaster has been having a tidy-out at home and found a CD that someone had given him at some point. The CD contains scanned copies of a number of old Durham Drinkers dating back between August 1984 and Christmas 1994. These have now been uploaded to the Durham Drinker section of the website. The issue to look out for are 33, 38, 39, 41, 45, 48, 52, 53, 54, 56, 58, 59, 60, 66, 68 and 69. If you have any other old Durham Drinkers that can help us fill the gaps in the archive, please get in touch.

Clothing to Nepal

Posted on by webmaster
Over the years, Durham CAMRA have supplied supply all volunteers with a shirt for helping out at the festival and in some years we used to have polo shirts for sale to the public. As we never managed to sell all the polo shirts and usually there are a few staff shirts left over at the end of each festival we found ourselves storing more and more surplus clothing. After the Nepal earthquake one of our members who had visited the country had the idea of posting these surplus shirts over to his Nepalese colleague to distribute to some of the needy villagers.

40 Years at The Victoria, Durham

CAMRA Durham members gathered at Durham's Victoria Inn recently to celebrate a milestone in the pub world. Michael Webster first stepped behind the bar in 1975, and forty years on, not much has changed at the Vic. There are now five handpumps and even more whisky and whiskey, but the building, the roaring fires, and the atmosphere thankfully remain unchanged.
Here's to the next forty years!
