Our February Wednesday Wander will be a trip to Consett to visit the Grey Horse beer festival followed by 2 or 3 other Consett pubs that have recently started selling real ale. We plan to meet at the Grey Horse from around 1pm.
From Durham, the X5 and X15 run on the hour and half past the hour arriving at Consett Bus Station around 40 minutes later from where it is a 5-10 minute walk to the Grey Horse. From Chester-le-Street the number 78 leaves around the top of and half past the hour arriving at Consett Bus Station around an hour later. All these services are operated by Go North East and timetables can be found on their website at https://www.gonortheast.co.uk/ The £5 all-operator Durham Day Rover is valid on these services if your journey is entirely within County Durham (price may be going up soon so please check!)
