Northumberland regional judging trip

On 16th July a minibus tour will take place leaving from the CAMRA
Durham branch area and travelling to some great pubs and clubs
covering town and country in the Tyneside and Northumberland region
encompassing Haltwhistle, Anick, Morpeth and Gosforth. This will
include branch Pub and Club of the Year winners where we will appraise
them for entry into regional awards.

Meet at Kings Head, Lanchester around 1330. The recommended bus service if travelling from Durham is the X15 at 1300 arriving at Lanchester at 1321. Both the X15 and X5 services go to Lanchester and run every 30 minutes. https://whatpub.com/pubs/DUR/6487/kings-head-lanchester

If you plan on joining us, please let our Social Secretary know so we can keep you updated on our location if you can't join us at 1330.

The next Saturday Saunter/Regional Club and Pub of the Year judging trip, to cover the Sunderland and South Tyneside branch area, will be on Saturday 11th June. Pubs to be evaluated are the Marine, South Shields and Mid Boldon Club. We will be adding some further venues to complete a social afternoon.

Following the May branch meeting, we have arranged our first Saturday Saunter to Darlington on Saturday 28th May. We would visit two of the venues for POTY / COTY scoring and two more for social reasons. That is not to say that the scoring venues do not have a social aspect of course.

The itinerary would be:

  • 1:00pm Darlington Snooker Club
  • 2:30pm The Britannia
  • 3:30pm The Quakerhouse
  • 4:30pm The Orb

Onwards for those who wish to continue

Branch meeting

This will be at the Holy Grale in Durham. The agenda can be found here

The meeting will begin at 1930 as usual and for any first time attendee at a CAMRA Durham meeting, there will be a free pint.

We will be having a visit by Cllr Elizabeth Scott, who is the DCC portfolio holder for Economy and Partnerships to have a discussion format with her about support for pubs, clubs, brewers and drinkers.
