Cheque presented to Gambling Man

Durham CAMRA present The Gambling Man Brewing Company a presentation cheque for the cask of beer they are delivering by foot on Tuesday to the beer festival in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance. John Corbett, Gambling Man's Brewery Liaison Officer for Durham CAMRA will also be walking with the guys. Look out in the Durham edition of the Northern Echo and the Durham Times for a special photo and feature from tonight. Good Luck for Tuesday guys - hope the weather stays fine - a pint will be waiting for you at the other end!!

"Meet The Brewer" - Black Paw Brewery

The Bishop's Mill in Durham City is holding a Meet The Brewer event on Wednesday, the 1st of August, starting at 7pm. The special guest is Phil from the Black Paw Brewery, and there will also be pies.

CAMRA Durham supports Tillyfest

Music and beer festival Tillyfest takes place on the 24th – 26th of August at Tow Law Town Football Club, Ironworks Road. The festival is in aid of the Give Tilly a Hand Appeal. CAMRA Durham are assisting with real ale provision at the event, which features 30 different artists over the three days of the festival. Adult day tickets cost £8 in advance, £12 on the door; weekend tickets are £22. Camping is available. For more information, please see

Shotley Bridge Beer Festival

There will be a beer festival at Shotley Bridge Cricket Club on the 24th - 26th of August. There will be over 40 ales available, plus ciders and wines.

CAMRA Durham 2012 Pub of the Year Results

The CAMRA Durham POTY crown has passed from one former winner (the Surtees Arms, 2010-2011) to another former winner (the Victoria Inn, a winner of many years, most recently 2009). The Club of the Year crown remains with the excellent Chester le Street Cricket Club, now a winner for five years running.
