CAMRA Durham Launches New Regatta Beer Festival

Following on from the Rugby Club Festival and Bishop Auckland Food Festival, CAMRA Durham is proud to announce the first ever Durham Regatta Beer Festival.

A joint effort between Durham CAMRA and the Durham Regatta, the festival will be open from 5pm-11pm on the Friday and Saturday of the Regatta weekend (June 7th and 8th).

The festival will be held on the Racecourse, adjacent to Baths Bridge, and entry will be £2. For more information, please see the Festival page or the Durham Regatta website.

CAMRA Launches "Fair Deal For Your Local" Campaign

After the success of the Axe The Tax campaign, CAMRA has launched a new campaign aimed at persuading the Government to reform the tied pubco model.

This model requires tenants to buy their beer from the company who owns the pub, meaning tied pubs can only stock a beer if it's offered by their pub company, and only at prices set by the pub company. Pubco tenants also have no independent adjudicator to settle disputes.

The Government is holding a consultation on its proposals, and CAMRA is calling for:

  • A new Code of Practice, backed up by a new watchdog.
  • A new free-of-tie option for licensees.
  • A guest beer option for tied publicans.

The consultation ends on June 14th. To find out more or get involved, see
