Before we tell you about this year's AGM we would just like to share a quick thought:
CAMRA is a volunteer organisation at branch level, and it is only through volunteers that we manage to hold meetings, invite guests to meetings, lobby MPs and councillors, contribute to the Good Beer Guide, present awards to our hard-working pubs and clubs, maintain the national pubs and beer databases, arrange social trips, run a beer festival and produce the Durham Drinker magazine. The more people we have involved, the better we can be and do for our local communities. Even an hour spent here and there make a big difference and there is no need to be elected to become involved, though we hope some of you choose to stand for election to join the committee.
The CAMRA Durham AGM will be held at 1930 on the 14th April 2021. This is the meeting at which the branch elects the committee, amongst other things.
This year we will be electing:
- Branch Chair
- Branch Secretary
- Branch Treasurer
- Membership Secretary
- Pub Data Co-ordinator
- GBG Submission Co-ordinator
- Pub Protection Officer
- Pub Promotions & Awards Co-ordinator
- Cider rep
- Branch Social Secretary
- Website Coordinator/Social Media Coordinator
- Branch Vice Chair
Any member of the branch can stand for any position. To do so, all you need to do is put yourself forward, in the first instance by contacting the secretary to indicate your intention to stand.
If you want to talk about what a position involves, then please contact the secretary.
We would love more of you to come forward and get involved. This is an especially important time for pubs, brewers, drinkers, and the communities that rely on all that pubs and clubs provide.
If you would like to be more involved, but cannot commit to a committee position, please also contact the secretary; there are always opportunities!
At the AGM we will also be considering our new Constitution, changed to reflect changes in CAMRA and to reflect better the needs of the branch. This can be considered in advance of the meeting by clicking on the following link: Proposed Constitution for CAMRA Durham
The Zoom details and a summary of the changes to the constitution will be announced separately.
