On Friday 23rd February, CAMRA Durham's Club of the Year 2018, Tanfield Lea Workingmen's Club, is holding a fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer appeal. This appeal is supported by CAMRA nationally, so it has been agreed that CAMRA Durham will do its best to support this evening's fundraiser. Again, transport can be provided, but Jess needs to know a.s.a.p., so e-mail her right away at jess.durham@btinternet.com if you intend to join our trip to Tanfield Lea and have a chance to see CAMRA Durham's Club of the Year doing great work.

The theme of this year's beer festival is seven and we will feature seven breweries who will supply us with 35 casks of real ale and to complement the beer seven ciders will be on offer.

The Water House, Durham, are pleased to announce that their next ‘Tap Takeover’ will be by Houghton-Le-Spring's very own MAXIM Brewery. They’ve always had a good relationship with MAXIM and are delighted to have them back for a 5 day showcase. Expect their staple favourites like Maximus and Double Maxim, alongside seasonal specials. MAXIM are a firm favourites of the pub's regular customers, but they hope to see one or two new faces come down to The Water House and try some fantastic beers.
