The May Wednesday Wander will visit pubs to the North West Edge of Durham City on 18th May. Meet at the Newton Grange on Finchale Road from 1330 (https://whatpub.com/pubs/DUR/6319/newton-grange-durham). The 62 Arriva service at 1302 from Durham stops outside, or the more frequent 64 a short walk away. Other pubs to try nearby will be the Jovial Monk, the Gate, Queens Head and Fram Ferment.
Next Wednesday Wander is on April 13th and will visit Royal Oak, Medomsley, Crown & Crossed Swords, Shotley Bridge and Scotch Arms, Blackhill. Bus from Consett at 1301 - from Durham 1200 to connect.
Afternoon social to Tantobie and surrounds. Starting at Stanley bus station taking the No. 6 at 14:08 arriving at Tanfield Lea Working Men's Club at 14:12 for a Club of the Year runner up presentation to the club. The plan is to leave the club and continue on the No. 6 to the Oak Tree in Tantobie. Then we may proceed to the Peacock in Tanfield Village before returning to Stanley.
There are several options to reach Stanley bus station from within the county area including of course, Durham itself.
Branch afternoon social to Seaham. Meet at Dempseys Bar from 1345. https://whatpub.com/pubs/DUR/6509/dempseys-bar-seaham
From Durham we recommend the number 65 bus from Durham at 1245 which gets to Seaham at 1338
From Chester-le-Street we recommend the number 71 bus at 1242 which gets to Seaham at 1333
Travelling from Sedgefield there is an alternative route on the X21 to Peterlee then the X6 (and others) to Seaham. Seaham also has a railway station, so access is good overall.
Please note the new venue details...

Monthly Meeting
"A return to the classic pre-lockdown trips taking in several interesting pubs starting with an important country pub recently re-opened following extensive refurbishment at the western edge of our branch boundary. Then venturing along the Tyne Valley to a key community owned pub in another picturesque location. We continue the trip to two very interesting micropubs in the Tyne Valley with several exciting options for the last port of call."
