Located at Coxhoe, County Durham, Sonnet 43 Brew House is a craft beer micro-brewery fusing a modern brewing philosophy and strong brand values with local culture and history. The 10 barrel plant uses the best ingredients with traditional brewing methods to produce remarkable, high-quality cask beers that are all taste and heart. Our core range comprises 6 beers:
  • Steam Beer Amber Ale, 3.8% ABV – Our Session beer. Maris Otter pale malt, Northdown hops. A very refreshing, medium bodied, slightly bitter drink.
  • Blonde Beer, 4.1% ABV – Golden-straw coloured wheat-style beer. Created with aptly named Sonnet hops to give a sweet, delicate floral aroma.
  • Bourbon Milk Stout, 4.3% ABV – Brewed using the finest ingredients. Bourbon, cocoa and oats give this dark beer a rich full-bodied chocolaty bitterness.
  • India Pale Ale, 4.4% ABV – Complex hoppy aroma, Goldings hops. Delicate fruity flavours. Hugely drinkable.
  • Brown Ale, 4.7% ABV – Mild and fruity with malty and toffee flavours, a pleasantly light bitterness.
  • American Pale Ale, 5.4% ABV – A complex aroma using premium Cascade, Simcoe, Centennial and Mount Hood hops with a malty, spiced fruit flavour.
All are available in 9 gallon casks, the American Pale Ale & Brown Ale are also available in bottle. There are plans to bottle the others by Spring 2013 and to turn the adjoining Kicking Cuddy pub into a tasting room ready for Summer 2013.
