The Durham Brewery

Established in 1994, the Durham Brewery produces a wide range of cask and bottle-conditioned ales. The brewery has a ten barrel plant but with a 20 barrel Mash Tun for the stronger ales, four 10-barrel fermenters and three 10-barrel conditioning tanks for bottled beer with a warm room for bottle conditioning. The Brewery has recently expanded into a new retail unit, including a new shop and visitor centre with a licenced bar.

Following the success of the brewery's open days on the first Saturday of every month, the brewery is now open for drinking every Saturday between 10am and 2pm. Beer on the bar is £2.00 per pint. At 2pm on Saturdays there is a short brewery tour, costing £7.50. Tours can also be arranged by appointment at other times.

The shop is open on weekdays from 8am to 4pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.

As well as their cask range, beers are available in bottles and 5 litre mini-casks and sold throughout the North East. For a list of outlets, or to buy directly online, visit the website at www.durham-brewery.co.uk.
