Branch and Region
CAMRA Durham is the branch of the Campaign for Real Ale responsible for supporting the breweries, pubs and houses across most of County Durham. The area coinciding with the former County Council area of Wear Valley (shown in red on the map) is additionally supported by a sub-group, Wear Valley CAMRA. Drinkers in the Teesdale area of the county are part of Darlington CAMRA.
CAMRA Durham holds monthly meetings for members, for which free transport from Durham City is provided. If you live in a different part of the Branch, please contact the Secretary, as additional pick-up and drop-off points are often possible. The branch also holds frequent socials and day trips, and coordinates the organisation of the annual Durham Beer Festival.

The Branch Committee
The Branch is run by a 9-position Branch Committee, elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting in April. The Branch Committee can appoint a member of the branch to fill a Committee position should it become vacant during the course of the year. At present, the position of Publications Co-ordinator is vacant; if you are interested in being appointed to this position, please contact the Branch Secretary for more information. North East Region
CAMRA Durham is one of the four CAMRA branches within the North-East of England. the four branches, Tyneside and Northumberland, Sunderland and South Tyneside, Darlington and ourselves work together to promote Real Ale and Real Ale events in the region. There are quarterly regional meetings at which members of the four branches meet to decide on region-wide issues.
