Beer Festivals

2011 Durham Beer Festival

The 31st Durham Beer Festival was held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September at Dunelm House (Durham Students' Union) on New Elvet in Durham City (DH1 3AN). The festival featured 100 cask beers including many local ales, and also bottled beers. There were also 30 different ciders and perries to choose from. The festival's chosen charity was the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The beer list is available here, and the cider list here.

Note: The September 2nd article in the Durham Times, and the article in the Northern Echo, state that proceeds from the beer festival were to go to the Great North Air Ambulance, which is slightly misleading - as with all CAMRA beer festivals, most of the profit goes to the Campaign for Real Ale, and helps to fund its endeavours to save pubs and promote real ale. The Great North Air Ambulance were the festival's chosen charity and received a substantial donation (over £600), half of which was raised through cask sponsorship. The newspapers involved have been told about this problem.

Disabled Access

Our venue, Dunelm House, have made improvements to access for the disabled over the past few years. This includes an internal stairlift and the provision of a ramp from the car park into the ballroom. If you have any queries regarding disabled access, please contact the Festival Organiser.

Festival Volunteers

Thank you once again to all our generous festival volunteers, we couldn't have a festival at all without you!
