2010 Durham Beer Festival

The 30th Durham Beer Festival will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of September at Dunelm House (Durham Students' Union) on New Elvet in Durham City. This year's festival features over 80 cask beers including many local ales, and local breweries Hill Island and Yard of Ale have both produced new brews especially for the festival. There will also be more than 20 bottled beers to try, and over 20 ciders and perries including the rather exclusive Ampleforth cider! Brewed by the monks of the Benedictine Community of Ampleforth Abbey, this cider is not normally available to beer festivals.

The festival's opening hours are:

Hot and cold food will be provided by last year's caterers Crinnions of Lanchester, and there will be entertainment on Saturday afternoon. A beer list can be found in the festival programme.

Disabled Access

Our venue, Dunelm House, have made improvements to access for the disabled over the past few years. This includes an internal stairlift and the provision of a ramp from the car park into the ballroom. If you have any queries regarding disabled access, please contact the Festival Organiser.

Festival Volunteers

We are in need of volunteers during the festival, and on Tuesday to Thursday for setup and Sunday for takedown. The work is voluntary, but helpers will get free beer and food tokens in return for their time, and there will be a thank-you meal on the Sunday for takedown volunteers.

If you think you may be able to help. please download a staffing form to print off and mail back to us, complete our online staffing form, or just contact the Staffing Manager.
