CAMRA Durham

The CAMRA Durham Real Ale Trail was launched at Ye Olde Elm Tree on Crossgate, on July 28th, 2011. It was created by branch members Nick Young and Bob Chapman, with the assistance of the city centre pubs.

The trail was developed mainly to provide visitors to Durham City with information on where to find locally-produced real ale. The trail's leaflet contains a map of the city showing the locations of pubs which offer real ale, and features a walking route around ten of them which also takes in the sights and scenery of this beautiful and historic city.

An electronic copy of the leaflet can be found here (PDF, 3.5MB). Paper copies are available in pubs across Durham City, and from the tourist information outlets.

Special offers associated with the Real Ale Trail

Several pubs in the leaflet are running special offers associated with it. The offers available as of January 29th, 2012, are:

• The Court Inn - A Share Platter or two £2.50 food vouchers. Please ask for the Bar Supervisor and produce the Ale Trail leaflet.
• New Inn - 30p off a pint (CAMRA members only)
• Bishops Mill - Real ale £2.05 for CAMRA members
• The Market Tavern - Pie, chips and peas plus a pint of real ale: £5.50 for CAMRA members.
